Last week, staff from Homeworks Energy were invited to attend a CIGA training day where both CIGA members of staff and specialist consultants provided professional development training. The morning session was focused on customer service skills, providing advice and techniques on how to engage professionally and consistently with homeowners; treating them with respect and support. The afternoon session discussed property assessments that are carried out when a homeowner thinks they may have a problem with their cavity wall insulation. The intention is to create a standard, industry wide survey and reporting process. This not only makes assessing the findings of reports simpler but will ensure that cavity insulation extraction only takes place when it is truly required.
The day was expertly run by CIGA and well attended by representatives from installer companies, system designers and CIGA inspectors. Both sessions provided useful information and prompted constructive discussion, which we are sure over time will bring positive change.
CIGA is taking a positive lead in an industry which is committed to addressing and resolving consumer complaints promptly and consistently. It was encouraging to be surrounded by a room full of professional and passionate industry members all working towards a shared vision.
Our thanks go to all at CIGA for putting on such a useful day.
